Created for USB-equipped Macintosh computers, Harman Kardon's three-piece SoundSticks speaker system produces high-quality stereo sound for music, movies, and gaming sessions. The 40-watt self-powered system includes two 10-watt satellite speakers and a 6-inch 20-watt subwoofer. Designed for easy plug-and-play, the SoundSticks speaker system includes a power adapter to power the subwoofer and a plug that connects to the USB port of your Mac computer. A blue LED indicator lets you know that the subwoofer is properly powered. You can adjust the volume onscreen through your computer's Control Panel. A physical control knob for adjusting the bass is on the back of the subwoofer. The SoundSticks USB three-piece computer speaker system comes with a one-year warranty.
I'm sure these speakers work great on OS X, but I couldn't resist getting my hands on these puppies after hearing about them working in Win XP. And let me tell you, I don't regret it for a second. The design is sweet to look at, but completely unobtrusive when compared to blocky Windows speakers. The installation is as easy as they come (plug it in - sheesh, my mom could do this). The sound was great out of the box, but the real trick for XP users is to maximize their sound output through a combo of the Windows Audio settings in the Control Panel, and through your MP3 software (I find WinAmp3 works best.) Once you've got the finer settings down, the fidelity is UNREAL.I'm hearing things in some songs that I only hear on my expensive home audio system. Instrumental tracks especially are something to marvel at. And these speakers do it without flinching, even at fairly high volumes. Can't recommend these bad boys enough. =)

Since you have only one PC speaker system, you don’t want to make sacrifices. That’s why Corsair has created the SP2500.At its heart are six Class D amplifiers driven by an ultra-efficient power supply. The 8" subwoofer driver is housed in a fourthorderbypass enclosure for clean, tight bass response that can seriously shake the room. The bi-amplified satellites usespecially developed 3" drivers and custom-designed, ferrofluid-cooled 1" silk dome tweeters for detailed audio reproductionacross the entire spectrum with great stereo imaging and a generous sweet spot. A programmable digital signal processor letsyou craft the audio to your liking. It’s all under your command with the 1.8" (4.6cm) color display desktop controller
Time for my Biased review which probally wont count for much. I am not a audiophile and I dont know much about speakers. I do have quite good hearing though, I can usually hear something before my dog does, and I can hear a out of tune violin in a full Orchestra.I like Corsair products they have NEVER faild me. In my current setup I use their Power Supply, RAM, Solid State Drive and all are performing as intended. Naturally when I heard Corsair wanted to branch into Audio I went ahead and replaced my old $12 CA speakers to support the company. I cant tell you what a audiophile can because I dont know what a "good" speaker is. I will tell you that these sound better than my friends Sound sticks and ALMOST on par with my Harmon Kardon surround sound in my car! This was a major step up for me, All my life I never invested into a speaker, and I honestly couldn't be more happy! Not sure about the neighbors though when you really crank it up bass really has some kick to it.I chose these over the M-Audio Steriophile 2.0, Creative T20 2.0, Soundsticks III, and Logitech Z623. And like you guys I did lots and lots of research. So good luck on your hunt! I will vouch for these 2.1 speakers though, money well spent!Chris

I went into a local electronics store to shop around for replacement speakers for my old 2.1 speakers. Good speakers while they lasted. After a little over a year, speakers started to not respond as well when adjusting the volume knob, and the sub started to rattle when turning it up. I went to the store already considering the Z2300's or Creative's T3 2.1 speakers. Not only do I have a small home office, but also a pretty small living room, so a 5.1 system was out of the question regardless to where I put them. The Rockus was not on the display shelves but Logitech, Creative and Bose were. I really liked the Bose Companion and almost decided to go with them. Then I saw the box for the Rockus. Design of the satellites are what caught my attention with a very unique and cool look. I read the features and come to find they're made of anodized aluminum and it has a straight optical input connection. I thought to myself, if I wanted to, I could always connect straight to my Playstation 3. Only thing was I've never heard of Rockus or the makers Soundscience, and it wasn't displayed with the other speakers where I could give them a test run. So I opened the box just to see how these satellites really looked. I pulled one out and was sold. Plus, if I didn't like the sound quality I could always take them back and get the Companions. One thing that did piss me off was there was no optical cable included. After I picked one up, I connected to my Playstation 3 in the living and it's been…

The sound quality will blow you away. I no longer have to mess with the equalizer because all frequencies are well represented with these speakers. The Atlas excursion is amazing and a sub is not necessary. I turned the bass up about 70% in the rear button and it does not distort even at high volume. The aluminum tweeter sizzles with the best treble I have heard on computer speakers. The mids are smooth as well. But to really put these speakers over the top I added an Infinity PS38 sub (8in, 300w) crossed at about 60hz and the system feels and sounds amazing in a 12x12 ft office.I'm giving it a 5 star review because the sound is so great, which is all I care about. But most people would really object to a price of 1K, even an amazon sale of $777. Other cons include the fact that the tweeter grille has very wide gaps which allow you (or your kids) to stick their fingers and easily cause a dent in the extremely thin tweeter membrane. The Atlas woofer membrane is hard so that would not appear to be a problem. I would also have loved to have the bass control on the front of the speaker as well as an LED light control.Again, the sound quality is best out there for speakers this size.

I'm a huge fan of Creative speakers and this is the third set I've purchased (the first two were the i-trigue which, unfortunately, are no longer available) and after reading many MANY reviews on a plethora of speaker sets, I thought this set would be a good choice. I enjoyed the bass boom it produced and the sound is very crisp. But after only 3 blissful days of listening to music, the speakers have stopped working. I've tried all the troubleshooting tips available on the Creative website and am now left waiting for a reply to my email sent into the customer service center oblivion. I'm very disappointed as I was hoping to use these speakers for a party in 3 days which clearly won't happen now.In conclusion, the sound is great - if the speakers produce any sound. However, it doesn't matter how good they *can* sound if they don't work at all :(If the customer service center is able to fix the problem, I will update this review.UPDATE: The customer service center was unable to fix my speakers but I was able to send mine back for a free exchange, and the new set has been working just fine. I guess the first set was just bad luck!

The Expressionist Ultra puts you in the heart of a sonic tsunami. Exhilarating waves of sound flow at you from five digital amplifiers powering five separate drivers. The long-throw 6-1/2-inch subwoofer pumps out seismic bass and the precisionmatched mid-range and high-frequency neodymium speaker drivers deliver exceptionally accurate, full-spectrum sound. This uniquely designed 3-piece, 200 Watt powerhouse is one serious audio system that will take your music, movies and games to a whole new listening level. Enjoy earth shaking sound from your MP3 player, TV, game console, DVD player or other audio device.
I was pretty excited about these speakers. They look kind of cool and the sub woofer is huge, but the speakers make a constant hissing noise you can hear over everything else, and continues when no music is playing. Absolutely do not buy these.

Looking to upgrade your PC audio? Our award-winning, THX-certified ProMedia 2.1 computer speakers are the perfect match for any desktop. But more importantly, this compact, three-piece setup delivers high-quality sound that puts some home theater systems to shame.
Within the last two years I have bought two sets of the Promedia 2.1 speakers based on the reputation of the company, and several excellent reviews on the web. They remind me of my old VW rabbit. When it worked it was an awesome car, but it had one problem after another. The same can be said for these speakers. The subs on both sets failed, and got severely distorted sound. The quality of these speakers has spoken for themselves. ****CHEAP**** They obviously have a serious reliability problem, as suggested by many other customer's reviews, but what is worse, after spending $350 on the two sets, Klipsch will not recall them, and wants me to spend another $40 each to fix the subwoofers. That's great customer service. Don't buy this junk. I have since bought a set of Logitech z-2200 speakers (THX rated) for about $100 and could not be happier. They are built much better, and sound fantastic.

Logitech speaker system z623 with thx-certified 2.1 system delivers big, bold sound with 200 watts (rms) of power-from your music, movies, and games.
I mainly got this set for music and some games. After the terrible disappointment with the Logitech Z506, I decided to try my chances on this set. I was afraid the bass is too overpowering for music but it turned out perfect.Pros+ Bass is truly clean and powerful+ Great highs and mids as well+ No buzzing, humming, crackling noises+ On-speaker bass and volume controls w/ aux and headphonesCons- Speaker wires alittle short. Maybe 2 feet more would of been nice.- More expensive than the z-2300Overall for music lovers and gamers, this set is a great investment.

They're also designed for convenience, with both the volume…
I've just got a pair of these and was disappointed by the buzzing noise from the left speaker (mentioned in many of the 2 star reviews on here). Well, I decided to try everything before returning them as they have the usual tremendously rich BOSE sound - which I first experienced in the Quiet Comfort on-ear headphones. So, after exhausting the web, I tried the control panel sound settings on my computer. I found that if you disable ALL of the INPUT sources the buzzing stops!!!! (Previously I had miisec my separate microphone input). So, if you've just bought or are think about buying these, don't let the 'buzzing' reviews put you off! Going back now to enjoy my music!

The JBL Spyro™ is a 2.1 powered speaker and subwoofer system. It provides excellent sound and an elegant design.
I bought these speakers because they looked so cool. Very innovative design. The sound is pretty good, but not great -- decent highs, but the bass from the subwoofer isn't as strong as I would like. Based purely on the design and sound, I would recommend these speakers to others. But I cannot recommend these speakers since they have a "fatal flaw". JBL really messed up when they made the volume buttons touch sensitive. Interesting concept, except that they don't work AT ALL. I can't raise or lower the volume, or mute the speakers. I'm stuck listening to everything at the default volume level. In reading some blogs, it turns out that others are experiencing the same problem that I am. Sounds like a fundamental design flaw in the product.I applaud JBL's effort to bring some style to the PC speaker market, but they went too far with the volume keys, putting form ahead of function.

The JBL Spot™ is a 2.1 powered speaker and subwoofer system. It gives you outstanding sound quality.
I got these JBL Spots, and I couldn't decide if I wanted these or the bluetooth versions available for my macbook pro. There's plenty of cord, and the cords are in excellent manufacture. I hide the bass under the desk, and put the other spots on the desktop and they are simply wonderful. Yes, like the other reviews indicate, the controls are on the bass unit, and all the plugs together are a little tight, but once you get it down, and wrangle your wiring it is space saving. Nothing like it for sound on a laptop. There is a sound limitation if you want to fill a stadium or something, but for home, the sound is quite manageable, and is loud and clear. I haven't found the buzz yet that others speak of, since I keep my bass at range, and you can feel the beats. The teenagers stop and check out my system.

The JBL Spyro is a powerful compact 2.1 channel system that looks and sounds like no other personal sound system out there. With a pari of delicately beautiful satellites and an innocent-looking subwoofer JBL Spyro components may bring shrinking violets to mind. But they're engineered to pund out rich authoritative JBL sound from nearly any multimedia source. Orange Satellites & White Subwoofer
I'm very happy with these speakers. I needed them so I could watch a DVD on my computer while I walk on the treadmill, and they needed to be loud enough to hear over the treadmill and my footsteps. Success!I only wish they had a remote so I could adjust the volume from a distance.

A 6-inch, 20-watt downward-firing powered subwoofer. Eight 1-inch full-range transducers. Plug-and-play compatibility with virtually any multimedia device. And stunning industrial design that perfectly matches the clarity of the sound. The Harman Kardon SoundSticks III desktop sound system brings a new level of excitement to music, games and movies with a minimum of wiring and looks spectacular doing it.

The JBL Duet III multimedia system provides great sound for either your computer or two channel music system. It uses proprietary Warrior transducer technology to give you great bass, crystal-clear midrange performance and silky-smooth highs.
I have looked at tons of speakers, from the sublime to the tinny, and bought JBL Duet III's. They are compatible with my MAC Mini, seem to have excellent range, acceptable bass response, and very good treble and mid-range. I listen to everything from online news to opera CDs, and the Duet III's are excellent (especially for $100). Are They audiophile level... no; But they are truly excellent speakers, nice clean design, space conserving and unobtrusive, and connecting them up was so easy I didn't need the simple diagram included with them. I may buy a second set for my wife's IMAC.JBL Duet III 2-Piece Multimedia System for Portable Music System and PC (Black)
